Education Philosophy |
Education PhilosophyEducation in Malaysia is an
on-going efforts towards further developing the potential of
individuals in a holostic and integrated manner, so as to
produce individuals who are intelectually, spiritually,
emotionally and physically balanced and harmonic, based on a
firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed
to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and
competent, who possess high moral standards and who are
responsible and capable of achieving high level of personal
well-being as well as being able to contribute to the harmony
and betterment of the family, the society and the nation at
large.

Education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, positive judgment and well-developed wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental aspects the imparting of culture from generation to generation. Education means 'to draw out', facilitating realisation of self-potential and latent talents of an individual. It is an application of pedagogy, a body of theoretical and applied research relating to teaching and learning and draws on many disciplines such as psychology, philosophy, computer science, linguistics, neuroscience, sociology and anthropology. |
